Leading Edge Fellowships Applicant Webinar
In Spring 2025, ACLS will place up to 16 PhDs as Leading Edge Fellows with social justice organizations for two-year fellowships. This year, our host organizations include Amica Center for Immigrant Rights (Washington DC), Disability Rights North Carolina (Raleigh, NC), Open Communities (Evanston, IL) and more.
Leading Edge Fellowships support recent PhDs in the humanities and interpretive social sciences as they work with social justice organizations across the country. Hosting organizations provide professional development opportunities and employee benefits to fellows, and draw on fellows’ scholarly perspectives and broad set of skills. Fellows receive stipends: for remote positions, $70,000 in year one, and $72,000 in year two; for in-person positions, $72,000 in year one, and $74,000 in year two. Relocation funds are available for in-person positions. All awardees receive access to health insurance and professional development funding, mentoring, and opportunities for professional development through ACLS and our alumni network. This initiative is made possible through the support of the Mellon Foundation.
This webinar is for prospective applicants to the 2025 ACLS Leading Edge Fellowship program. Program staff will provide information on the program and about preparing a successful application. Some time will be dedicated to answering general questions about eligibility, application materials, and our selection process.

Brown Bag Series
Dartmouth GWiSE (Graduate Womxn in Science & Engineering) presents our first Brown Bag Series. We have invited rising Dartmouth female faculty/staff across disciplines and departments that are making significant contributions to advance their field of research. As a chapter of New England GWISE, the central purpose of Dartmouth GWISE is to empower, support, and develop a community of womxn and historically marginalized communities in STEM fields. Our core belief is that the basis of diversity is intersectionality. Through our programs, advocacy, and outreach, we want to help with building a safe and inclusive graduate community at Dartmouth where the voices of women, people of color, LGBTQIA+ communities, and other underrepresented groups are being centered and celebrated.
